Cuomo: Soundview ‘Not The Private Playground Of Sen. Espada’
Here’s AG Andrew Cuomo at a press conference outside his Lower Manhattan offices earlier today where he discussed the early-morning raid on Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada’s Soundview Healthcare Network that was jointly conducted by the FBI, IRS and AG’s office.
Cuomo slammed Espada for treating Soundview as a publicly-funded “private playground,” adding:
“I’d also like to point out that Mr. Espada himself is an elected official, and, as such, is theoretically aware of the law and the regulations. And I think that makes this particular circumstance more egregious.”
