With the Democratic Rural Conference straw poll just three days away, AG hopeful Eric Dinallo announced he has secured yet another endorsement from an upstate county chairman, bringing his tally to 21.

“Eric Dinallo has an impressive record of achievement as a prosecutor and regulator, and has shown that he will bring innovative and effective solutions to the problems New Yorkers face,” said Schenectady Democratic Chairman Brian Quail in a statement provided by the Dinallo campaign.

“He has taken the time to listen, and it shows. Both his Rural Agenda and Public Integrity Agenda address voters’ concerns. He will make an outstanding Attorney General and will well serve both our party and the people of New York.”

(Nice public integrity mention on the day that AG Andrew Cuomo filed his second lawsuit against Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr.)

This brings Dinallo to 9.05 percent of the weighted Democratic convention vote. (Remember, it takes 25 percent to get onto the ballot).

That’s not too shabby, but consider that landing some of the bigger downstate counties can get you that in one fell swoop.

Brooklyn, for instance, which has been flirting with one of Dinallo’s primary opponents, Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice, of late, is worth 9.14 percent. Manhattan is the biggest with 10.03 percent.

Dinallo is going to be my guest this evening on “Capital Tonight,” so tune in at 8 p.m. and again at 11:30 p.m. for that.
