Randy Altschuler released his third television ad on his website today.  The 30 second spot titled “Change” will begin airing across NY-1 later this week.

Altschuler is now one of (I think) three Republicans vying to take on Rep. Tim Bishop in November.  Over the weekend, Republican Gary Berntsen dropped his campaign to run against Bishop, opting instead to go up against Jay Townsend who is vying to take on senior Senator Chuck Schumer.

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos is also expected to announce a challenge to Schumer this week.

UPDATE: Apparently, there’s also a fourth GOP Schumer challenger: Jim Staudenraus.

The text of Alschumer’s new ad appears after the jump.

President Obama: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Announcer: “Was the wait worth it?  Over 50 thousand looking for jobs in Suffolk county along.  America – 12.9 trillion dollars in debt.  The average taxpayer on the hook for $117,000.  The Pelosi/Bishop agenda – more taxes and more spending.  We can do better.”

Altschuler: “I’m Randy Altschuler, candidate for Congress, and I approved this message.”
