Rochester Mayor Robert Duffy said he has not been approached about being Andrew Cuomo’s running mate in the race for governor.

But, he doesn’t appear to be ruling out the idea should the call come from the Attorney General.

When asked by YNN’s Leah George if he would be interested in the job, Duffy wouldn’t confirm or deny if he’s interested in being Cuomo’s number two:

“I wouldn’t even comment on whether or not I would or would not be. It is all rumor right now and I would not want to feed into it at all.”

Rumors have been circulating for weeks about Duffy being on the short list to be Cuomo’s choice for Lieutenant Governor–something Duffy said he recently learned about in the media.

Other potential LG candidates on Cuomo’s short list include Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and former state Deputy of Public Safety Denise O’Donnell.
