Gov: Leaders Are Biggest Obstacle In Getting Budget Passed

David really is becoming a STEAMROLLER.

He’s telling the truth, and Albany is aghast. That’s not supposed to happen. The rules of the club forbid more than a kernel of truth, the rest is supposed to be spin.

I am SO glad he’s staying for the remainder of his term in office. He’s giving ANDREW something to model himself after, and in the meantime, he’s doing the right thing, at last.

New York has got to deal with its political pathologies before it is too late. When an Espada or Monserrate can rise to importance, you know the institution is in crisis.

Personally, I’d add Silver to that list, and Pataki and Bruno, too. They were each woefully unsuited for their jobs, and my proof is what happened in upstate New York during their watch.

After a terrible start and a lot of silly mistakes he seems prone to, Paterson is still proving to be better than any of them.

He knows the people at the table. He can’t fool them. They’re in different seats however essentially the same people — except Sampson (and Tedisco). I think Sampson knows it will be easier working with the minority than against. The senate will work with Paterson. Both against Silver, I would imagine.

I still can’t get over the 30 minute debate muzzle that was put in place during yesterday’s session.
