It might seem impossible, but Andrew Cuomo’s book-length policy platform apparently had some holes in it – at least Rick Lazio thinks so.

Earlier today, the Republican gubernatorial hopeful released a list of 10 questions his Democratic opponent has yet to answer. They are:

1. Where do you stand on Obama’s Health Care Bill?
2. Why aren’t you calling for personal and business income tax relief?
3. Was Obama’s stimulus bill a good use of taxpayer dollars?
4. Should layoffs of the state workforce be on the table to close the budget deficit? Furloughs?
5. Will you renew Governor Paterson’s tax increases when they expire?
6. Should State Government be able to do “sweeps” from funds like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and the Transportation Fund?
7. Where do you stand on merit pay for teachers? Ending first-in-last-out?
8. Should pensions stay in defined-benefit for all state employees? Should we move to defined-contribution?
9. Will you repeal the MTA Payroll Tax?
10. Should terrorists be tried in civilian courts in Manhattan?

Cuomo did call for some things that will be unpopular with public employee unions (freezing pay, creating a Tier VI in the pension fund, reducing the size of state government – a move that will undoubtedly necessitate job cuts, but he makes no mention of that I can find in “The New NY Agenda: A Plan for Action”).

He doesn’t specifically address any of the topics raised by Lazio today, although I’m sure much of that will come up over the course of the campaign.
