Malpass Hires McCain ’08 Fundraiser
David Malpass, one of three (and possibly four) Republican US Senate hopefuls, announced this morning his campaign has hired consultant Tamara Hallisey of The Hallisey Group to assist with his fundraising.
Hallisey previously worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee and three presidential fundraising efforts in New York State, including heading up Sen. John McCain’s finance team here in 2008.
Molly Mandigo, who worked with Hallisey on McCain’s campaign, will be named Malpass’ finance director
“We’re thrilled that Tamara has joined the team,” Malpass said in a press release.
“Her vast network of connections and fundraising prowess will be an invaluable asset to the campaign as we work to get out our message of reversing Washington’s tax and spend culture.”
Malpass has so far sunk $1 million of his own money into his Senate bid. Former Rep. Joe DioGuardi has also invested his own cash into his campaign to the tune of $931,000.
The third contender, Bruce Blakeman, has been an announced candidate the longest, but has spent the least amount of his own money to date, loaning himself $150,000.
Orange County Executive Ed Diana, who was expected to make his intentions clear at the end of last week, has not yet announced if he’s in or out.
