Paterson Hoping To ‘Hoodwink’ Or ‘Cajole’ Colleagues
If you were looking for the tone of today’s upcoming leaders meeting, this might give you some insight.
Speaking at a Low-Income Forum on Energy this morning in Albany, Gov. David Paterson gave his typical speech about the need to make difficult decisions. And then suggested he might have to resort to other – more unorthodox – methods to get a budget passed.
“We have been unable to make difficult, at times unpopular, very necessary decisions which our predecessors did make,” Paterson said.
“To that end I have to leave now, even though I don’t want to, to see if I can coax, or hoodwink, or cajole my colleagues into making them.”
You can watch the leaders meeting live on YNN. (Things are scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m.; Liz will be live on the set to offer some analysis of the proceedings).
