Savage To Make ‘Major Announcement’ (For Senate)

Susan Savage’s candidacy ensures that there will be no 18th term for Farley who is almost 80 years old. As Chairwoman of the Schenectady County Legislature, she led the economic revival and reform of Schenectady County by taking on the good old boys, and now she has the chance to replace one in the State Senate.

Ms. Savage is exactly the change we don’t need. She is the worst of the politicans. A super liberal who has raised taxes and spending to their highest levels ever in Schenectady, all she does is tax, spend and regulate. She is the most partisan, most political person in office in the capital district.

Her husband is one of the biggest lobbyists in Albany, she used to be a lobbyist, until she went to work for Spitzer and then used her elected office to stop an effort by Farley’s son to have the Schenectady County Legislature object to Spitzer’s crazy scheme to give illegal aliens drivers licenses.

Havent we learned with Obama that some change can be alot worse. Hugh Farley may not be perfect, but he is honest and sincere. He votes against taxes and increased spending. As a Republican he is a check against the crazy one party, arrogant rule in Albany.

Susan Savage would merely be one more vote for the New York City Democrats who have given us this fiscal mess and the tax hell we call New York. Look at her record, not her spin. The change Susan Savage offers would make us much, much worse.

Interesting that Sue Savage is holding her event at Proctor’s.

Does she want to remind people of her lame-brained and thankfully ill-fated scheme of a couple years back to rip the Schenectady County Community College music department away from the main campus and to shift it to Proctor’s for no good reason?

Looks like Susan Savage is wasting no time in setting the tone of her campaign in hiring a bunch of high-priced Brooklyn-based operatives to run her campaign. It’s really reassuring that this firm’s partners brag about ties to both ACORN and disgraced politician Alan Hevesi.

Just what we need–another vote from someone beholding to the NYC run democratic State Senate circus!

As a Dem in Farley’s district, I’m not feeling all that excited over Ms. Savage’s candidacy. I’m open to persuasion, however.

We don’t need another Dem who will help the NYC-centric Senate Dems stay in power. They haven’t done jack sh*t (no, I’m not referring to Jumpin’ Jacks) for Upstate NY. In fact, they continue to actively screw us over. Take a look at our parks and historical site that are now closed. Did anybody stand up the governor and say no? Of course, not. The parks aren’t in NYC, so who cares? Then we have NYC’s Senator Schneiderman trying to pull a fast one on where the 2010 census will assign the prison population geographically. Cute.

The current upstate Senate Dems (like Breslin) just keep going with the Conference leader Sampson (from NYC, of course). How could Savage possibly be any different? You have to go along to get along.
All in all, I think that we were better off under Republican control of the Senate — despite the fact that I have no love for Hugh Farley. At least we got our share of “the pie” with Farley.

And then there is the ongoing boondoggle known as the metroplex. Jeezus.

I’m also not feeling warm and fuzzy about a former lobbyist representing me.

As a woman, I have to ask WTF is going with 9 kids?!!! Unless you’re taking in Hatian orphans, who in the world has 9 kids these days? Is Savage an anti-birth control Catholic? How do she and her husband have time to do anything other than take care of their kids. And why in the world was Savage wearing a dress and FLIP-FLOPS on some campaign lit that I got in the last election??? I still haven’t forgotten that.

Oy vey. What a mess.

So Topo hates Catholics and children while Tea Party Forever just hate the truth– just like Bob Farley. Spitzer pulled his driver’s license deal the same night that the Democrats were ready to vote to ask him to rescind it. Schenectady County since 2004 has added 4,000 new jobs and $400 millioon in new investment. Dowtown is revitalized and the technology parks are booming. GE moved its Alternative Energy HQ to Schenectady and is building a new battery plant. Susan Savage has cut taxes 3 times in 5 years and has produced the lowest County tax rate since 1956. She has reduced the number of County employees by over 11% without lay-offs and the County’s health-care costs are lower now than they were in 2005 due to numerous reforms including the landmark Canadian Drug program. Seems to me that Susan could teach athing or two to the good old boys in Albany!

You must be from the Savage campaign, Guiseppe. Let me clear a few things up for you.

1) I hate the Pope. He’s a corrupt, out-of-touch old fool who has spent much of his life covering up the crimes of priests who have sex with children. If anyone hates children, it’s the Pope. He has failed miserably in protecting the kids. The Pope would be in prison if I had my way…along with all the pedophile priests.

2) Having been raised a Catholic, I do know that there are plenty of progressive people of all faiths that I have no quarrel with. I’m not going to take any crap from religious simpletons, however, who take a literal interpretation of the bible or who mindlessly follow the sexist decrees of the sexist Pope about birth control. Feel free to call that hate. if it makes you happy.

3) As a voter, I want to know why any modern woman would spend nearly a decade of her adult life pregnant. Nine kids is far beyond the average family size these days. This is all very odd. How old are these kids? How is Ms. Savage going to juggle a boatload of kids and a job that often requires long hours?

…as for your talking points, Joe, rest assured that I intend to dissect every claim in the coming months to see if it’s true. If there’s any b.s. being peddled, it will become clear. If your claims are all true, well then, that’s something in Ms. Savage’s favor come election day.

Senator Farley is a gentleman. It’s not that he has gotten old, but the system that he has gotten so good at sure has. With a new governor on the way, we need to support candidates who will work with Andrew Cuomo to reform Albany. I’m happy to see that Susan Savage has announced,

Right now I’m obsessing about Cuomo living in the Mansion w/his girlfriend. How do you clean up Albany when you’re living in sin in full view? He’ll have to get married — it’s possibly the hairy arm…. once he gets married then he’s perfect? (not saying he is… that’s the theory).

Noone is judging the children. I know nothing about them nor do I want to.
Having 9 children says something about a person in a world of scarce resources.
