Doesn’t seem right to me — a live-in girlfriend in the Governor’s mansion No one has said she is going to live there… however I think it’s a horrible message if that happens.

Maybe they’re getting married in December. Cuomo seems to like to keep the public wondering… will he run.. will he get married. We already know he’s going to win.

I guess he’ll wait until he wins then get married. Why bother getting married unless he has to — and IMO if he wins he has to marry her to live with her in the mansion

I seem to be the ONLY person out there who is concerned about this…I haven’t read comments otherwise.

Given what’s gone on in the Executive Mansion over the years, it probably doesn’t much matter one way or the other.

I disagree Nick. I think it does matter to families who are raising children.

I’m not uptight. I don’t think the governor of new york should have a live in girlfriend in a building taxpayers pay for… he can live with her anywhere he wants except in the mansion.

This will come up again, though. One day we’ll have a gay governor who will want their significant other living in the mansion. Let’s hope NYS has a law that allows gay people to get married because otherwise they’re putting a gay couple who does believe in fidelity and want to live in a legally committed relationship in a position where they can’t.

I’m not uptight, PO’d. Other people are and I am speaking on their behalf but it’s not because they’re uptight — it’s because they believe in marriage.

I did come online to say that I can understand how Sandra Lee feels — when she says she likes how things are right now. I’m not criticizing a couple who are in love and may or may not want to get married.

When they decide to marry — they should live in the mansion. After all — she said she likes how things are now — she’s not in the mansion.

Andrew Cuomo and Sandra Lee have certainly been discreet in their relationship. Here in NYC our Mayor is living with his girlfriend, but not in Gracie Mansion. no one really cares.
Our former mayor, the national disgrace known as Rudy Giuliani, sued to be allowed to bring his mistress into Gracie Mansion when his wife and their children were present. He was always groping his wife on television while banging some ugly goom behind closed (publicly funded) doors.
Andrew has his children with him part of the time. They are teenagers I believe and apparently get along quite well with Sandra, with whom he lives.
After his ex wife embarrassed him in a way that only a Kennedy can, he has every reason to continue to keep his relationship out of the public eye – which is his right.
I think “private eye”, that very few posters here do care. Andrew and Sandra don’t intend to have children together – which I agree is the primary reason for lawful marriage. Other than that, it is inevitably the people who trumpet their marriage’s strength who are in trouble.
I call it the Jason Kidd syndrome.
(At least now that he and his wife busted up we don’t have to be subjected to that big headed kid in the dailies).

I hold the Governor of NY to a very high standard — and just because others before him acted shamefully is not an excuse or a pass.

I am certain Andrew and Sandra are discreet — but now they are in the public eye and I don’t know how I would explain to children in schools learning about new york current events that our governor isn’t married to the woman who lives in the mansion.
