GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio released a new Web ad this morning that tries to quantify New York’s considerable financial distress in number voters can easily understand.

For example, the spot notes the state’s projected three-year deficit is greater than the GDP of 103 countries, and that the projected FY 2011 deficit of $9.2 billion (which is an ever-moving target) would buy 468,790 Ford fusions. When placed end-to-end, those cars would stretch from Albany to Buffalo almost five times over.

Scary.
