During an appearance on “Live From the State Capitol with Fred Dicker” on Talk 1300 AM, Andrew Cuomo refused to say if he is going to accept the Working Families Party, but he did make it clear that an endorsement from the WFP would be an endorsement of his platform, and not just himself as a candidate.

“If they can’t endorse my platform, then they shouldn’t endorse me,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo initially rejected the Working Families Party’s offer to endorse him because they were under federal investigation. They have since been cleared by the US Attorney’s office.

Traditionally, the party has been opposed to many things in Cuomo’s platform for Governor, most notably a 2% property tax cap. During the interview Cuomo suggested the WFP should consider moving on some issues because of the current situation the state faces.

“You can have a different position last year than you have this year,” Cuomo said. “You can have a position in the abstract that is different than the position you take when the state is in crisis.”

Cuomo was also asked for his thoughts on last night’s Democratic Attorney General debate, televised on YNN and NY1. He said the debate was informative, but said he doesn’t know who he is going to be voting for yet.
