Kolb Gains Seat, Loses Goatee
Some people grow beards during the NFL postseason, others for hunting season. But for Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, it was for the stretch of time between Nov. 2nd, 2010 and Wednesday of this week. That’s when the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court voted 4-0 to declare Republican Tom Kirwan the winner in the 100th District State Assembly race–the last race in the country that remained undecided.
Kolb spoke to Liz Benjamin Thursday about the victory, which will give his conference a veto-proof majority.
UPDATE: Following the taped interview with Leader Kolb, Frank Skartados called Tom Kirwan to concede, removing the remote possibility that the matter would be taken up by the Court of Appeals.
