Pete King For President?
The Associated Press is reporting that Rep. Peter King is taking a “wait and see” approach toward a potential 2012 presidential bid.
The Long Island Congressman was asked by the AP on Wednesday if he had presidential aspirations and he responded by saying, “let’s see what happens.”
As chair of the Homeland Security commission, King’s national profile has grown through controversial hearings he hosted on the radicalization of Muslims in America. He was also a staunch opponent of the ground zero mosque.
Last night, Nassau County Republican Chair Joe Mondello actually floated the idea of King for president during a dinner for more than 1,000 GOP members. Mondello touted King’s record on the war on terror and his understanding of the national debt as reasons he’d be a good President.
