Good job, Nick, on your first(?) roundtable. It’s nice to see Susan Arbetter on the roundtable, too.

I have a question for you and all of LCA regarding Tier 6 that you mentioned. How did Cuomo arrive at that approximately $90 billion savings figure OVER 30 YEARS. Geez, it’s hard enough to forecast ahead a year. Just look at how many times the forecast for 2011-12 has changed since Paterson was governor. It’s quite a feat to estimate ANYTHING thirty years from now.

Did Cuomo give the LCA a handout detailing his pension savings calculations or did he just pull the $90 billion figure out of his butt? It’s the latter, I suspect.

Might I suggest that the entire LCA get in the habit of asking for NUMERICAL DETAILS every time someone pulls a figure out of the air? ALL of the details behind someone’s calculations? The details behind the so called details? Thx.

p.s. Cuomo would have to provide the Legislature with the details, so why not give them to the press, too?
