In fact, 45 states have legalized and sanctioned mixed martial arts. Of states with athletic commissions, only 3 do not regulate MMA. Vermont, New York, and Connecticut. Connecticut is expected to have legal MMA shortly, however there is an active community and events on the Native American reservations in that state.
