They'll split it between the allowable tax increase and layoffs. The union (mostly CSEA) will lose a few more members and more dues money. Is this a suprise to some citizens? Local governments (meaning counties, cities, towns and villages) haven't been keeping up with their bills for quite some time. The repo man (DiNapoli) has arrived. If people want services like police, fire, trash, schools, roads plowed, all kinds of repairs to municipal property, parks kept clean, someone to call when something isn't working properly in a municipality etc....then guess what? You have to PAY for it. That includes pensions. Don't like it? Well then fire everyone and take care of EVERYTHING yourself. Seriously. Stop whining and DO SOMETHING. Home school your kids from now on, hook a plow up to the front of your family van and take care of the snow yourself, grab your garden hose if your house catches on fire and so on.
