It’s going to be “No More Drama” for Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

His “surprise” birthday guest teased in last month’s Cuomo: The Newsletter is Mary J. Blige, who will be headling the governor’s big birthday party/fundraiser. Tickets to the Dec. 6 event range from $100 to $2,500.

The event is being held at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City.

Previous Cuomo birthday headliners have included rocker Bon Jovi, a (gasp) New Jersey resident.

Blige, as the invite a reader forwarded over pointedly notes, is a New York native. She was born in the Bronx, spent her early years in Georgia and later moved to my hometown, Yonkers.

Here’s the invite:

Big news this morning!

By now, you should have received the invitation to Governor Cuomo’s Birthday Gala on December 6th at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City.

But what you did not know is this — Nine-time Grammy Award winning artist, and native New Yorker, Mary J. Blige will be performing!

The performance and cocktail reception will begin at 6:00pm with a Host Committee Dinner to follow (dinner is limited to Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors).

Ticket prices for the performance and reception range from $2,500 to $100 (Young Professionals only) and we anticipate a sell out!

We hope you will join us to celebrate a year of great accomplishments in New York State and wish Governor Cuomo a Happy Birthday!
