Christie Raises Cash On Cuomo’s Turf
A reader passed along this invite to a fundraiser in NYC next Monday that will be headlined by NJ Gov. Chris Christie to benefit Garden State Republican Sen. Joseph Kyrillos, who’s likely to challenge Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez this fall.
The $1,000-a-head event at the Union League Club is being billed as a lunch and “roundtable discussion.” (There’s also options for $10,000 vice chairs and $25,000 co-chairs).
Woody Johnson, who owns the Jersey-based New York Jets, is listed as a chair of the event along with philanthropist Dr. Munr Kazmir. The vice chair list includes state GOP Chairman Ed Cox and Mercury Public Affairs partner Mike DuHaime.
Kyrillos also has another New York connection – his campaign is being managed by Chapin Fay, who worked for former Gov. George Pataki and also managed Harry Wilson’s close-but-no-cigar state comptroller campaign in 2010.
