Log Cabin Republicans Raise For Skelos, Senate GOP

I’m sure Governor Cuomo and his cronies will  more than fill the coffers seeng that Skelos sold out a what is a fundamental interest of the Republican Party. And the governor and the Democrats will be very, very, happy to have control of both houses of the legislature when the voters realize that New York’s Democrats stand for the most absurd notions and the legislative leadership of the GOP stands for — well, nothing, really.  (Oh, yeah…the GOP legislative leadership stands for whoever is contributing the most to their campaigns.  I forgot.)

Since there is no difference between the parties in NYS on core issues, I’m sure the voters will vote their pocketbooks, which means they’ll support the Democrats who will continue feeding them benefits.

Shame on Log Cabin Republicans for raising a finger to raise money for Skelos and the majority almost all voted against marriage equality. I guess Skelos just not stopping a vote was good enough for the Log Cabin bunch. Pathetic. What low standards! 

When the Democrats had a majority in the state House and state Senate, marriage equality did not become law. It was only after the Republicans took control of the House that it passed.

 How so? Explain your nutty response.

Talk about bad logic. Correlation doesn’t imply causation. The fact that the Republicans controlled the Senate AND SSM passed doesn’t mean that one CAUSED the other. The sky was blue the day SSM passed, too. Does that mean the blue skies will insure passage of SSM? I think not. Otherwise, gays would wait for a nice day and have SSM enacted in every state across this great land.

What DID cause SSM to pass was the fact that CUOMO was the new governor who wanted SSM passed. He was willing to pressure the Republicans and horse trade with them to get SSM passed. CUOMO and SSM occured together (correlation) and CUOMO made SSM happen (causation).

I think that it’s good timing and brillant that the Log Cabin Republicans hold a fund raiser for Senator Dean Skelos and the Senate Republicans.  To win friends you need to show that you support them and 4 Republicans came forward last year to do just that, support equality.  Now, I’d like to see how many of those liberal Democrats will come forward and support those four Republicans.  My guess is, few to none, because Democrats are wanters and takers, but wouldn’t support helpers.  I hope that I’m proven wrong, but, history repeats itself.  Go Log Cabin.

SSM passed because a group of GOP state senators were cowed and /or bribed by some deep pocketed donors in NYC who want to advance the gay agenda.

Nothing more; nothing less.  It was a shameless act of influence buying that — were this state actually respectful of law and justice — would have resulted in an investigation and, likely, criminal indictments.

But this was for homosexuals, so the blatant corruption will be swept under the rug.

It’s true that correlation does not imply causation, but that’s irrelevant because I wasn’t correlating anything. Instead, I was explaining the causation: Republicans voted for it, which CAUSED it to pass. If Republicans hadn’t voted for it, it would not have passed.
