House Speaker John Boehner is heading to Central New York on Aug. 4 to campaign for Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle, one of several GOP candidates in New York who is receiving help from the national Republican leadership.

Buerkle, running a grudge match against the Democrat she outsed in 2010, ex-Rep. Dan Maffei, is holding the fundraiser at a home in Cicero.

Previously Boehner held a private funderaiser for Hudson Valley Rep. Nan Hayworth and next month travels to Lake George for an event benefting North Country Republican Matt Doheny.

NRCC officials told reporters in a conference call in June that Boehner would be sent to help Republicans in swing districts this election cycle.
