Communities in Crisis: Declining Revenues for Local Government
A big part of the financial problem of local governments is that their limited revenues are just not enough to cover growing expenses. That has lead to a lot of spending cuts, and some other interesting approaches. Robert Zahradnik of the Pew Charitable Trusts wrote a report on the issue this spring, and he discusses his findings.
