Convicted, Seabrook’s Council Web Page Gone
A jury found “cash and carry” Larry Seabrook guilty of funneling $1.5 million in taxpayer money to organizations controlled by his friends and family.
And with very little ceremony following the corruption conviction, the New York City Council removed his official web page, declaring his seat vacant.
Seabrook remains free on bond and will be sentenced on Jan. 13.
It is a precipitous fall for the Bronx who was also a state assemblyman and senator in Albany, the first African-American to hold all three positions.
H/t to NY1 Inside City Hall anchor Errol Louis for this catch.
