The Cuomo administration this afternoon released its 2,200-word letter to The New York Times that had been sent in response to questions from the newspaper regarding its scoop that the group had received millions of dollars from gambling interests.

The Times had initially reported the letter and quoted from it, but did not release the full letter. Requests to view the letter made by Capital Tonight, along with Ben Smith at BuzzFeed, were not granted.

Jon Campbell from Gannett, who filed a FOIL for the letter, posted the letter this afternoon over at Politics on the Hudson.

The letter’s release comes after Gov. Andrew Cuomo faced scrutiny from his use of paperless PIN-to-PIN messaging that was first reported by The Daily News.
