Cuomo Leads A Clinton-Less, Biden-Less 2016 Field
In your insanely early 2016 campaign news today, there are decidedly mixed results for Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a new Public Policy Polling survey.
Should Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden run, Cuomo polls at 3 percent in Iowa Caucuses.
Cuomo’s 3 percent puts him with other potential Democratic candidates, including Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.
A Clinton-Biden-Cuomo slugfest wouldn’t just be ugly, it’s unrealistic for a number of reasons.
But without Clinton in the mix, Cuomo’s chances improve. He would poll at 14 percentage points to Biden’s 36 percentage points.
And without the vice president running, Cuomo has 20 percent of the vote with O’Malley coming in second at 2 percent.
But more interestingly still, 55 percent of Democrats surveyed say they can’t give an informed opinion on Cuomo.
