sampsonSenate Minority Leader John Sampson was uninjured after his car collided with a parked vehicle early this morning in Brooklyn, a Senate Democratic spokesman said.

Sampson, D-Brooklyn, was driving to work in his state-issued Ford Taurus at around 4 a.m. this morning in advance of what the spokesman said was a long day at court.

Sampson swerved to avoid what he thought was an obstruction in the road and hit a parked vehicle, which as a result hit two other parked cars.

He immediately called 911, according to the spokesman, Mike Murphy.

No violations were issued and no breath test was given, Murphy said.

Sampson stayed on the scene until it was cleared at 7:30 this morning. There was unspecified damage to Sampson’s car.

After leaving the scene, Sampson called the office of Senate Secretary Frank Patience to inform legislative officials of the accident.
