A Blast From The Past
Here’s something I haven’t seen since….oh, the last GOP convention.
It’s a Pataki Pass!
Veteran New York GOP watchers will recall these. The former governor doled them out to his supporters and donors to provide access to events that he held back when he was still mulling the possibility of his own White House run.
That’s very far in the past now.
But Pataki is expected to make an appearance at the convention tomorrow, and he’s going to host an event (it doesn’t appear to be a fundraiser, even though he certainly could use the dough for his new Super PAC) at Crabby Bill’s, which is a seafood join not far from the New York delegation hotel in Clearwater.
Pataki endorsed Romney back in April. (It was a terribly enthusiastic endorsement, for which Pataki took some heat).
Longtime Pataki aide Rob Cole has worked for Romney for two election cycles now, and is currently heading up his New York campaign. There are a number of former Pataki administration aides here in Florida, including: Dave Catalfamo, Ryan Moses, Bob Bulman and Bill McGahay.
