Re: Boehner. It may be an uncomfortable truth, and an unpleasant truth, but it is true. There is no significant Senate race underway in NYS. That Mindy Myers gets more media attention speaks volumes. And the NYGOP has no one else to blame than itself. It allowed itself to go years without developing a bench to draw future candidates from. It allows (and even encourages) unhelpful statewide primaries in the past couple of cycles.
Re: D'Amato. Is this a surprise that Al remains cozy will Gilly and her campaign? At some point, one would hope that we'd stop trying to highlight the ol' boys like D'Amato and Pataki. Here's an idea, use these delegation events to start primping and networking the potential 2014 candidates. Why isn't Astorino down addressing the NYS delegation in Tampa and making contacts for his rumored 2014 run against Cuomo? Likewise, is Flanigan making the rounds to build on his alleged AG interest?
I think VJ Machiavelli would agree with me on this, these NYS delegation events should look more to the future, and less to the dismal past.
