Cox: Gillibrand Should Denounce Obama Super PAC Ad
New York State Republican Party Chairman Ed Cox called on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to denounce the ad from an Obama-aligned Super PAC that blames Mitt Romney for the death of a man’s wife.
Cox also takes a swipe at Gillibrand’s time as a lawyer whose firm represented tobacco companies.
“This is simply beyond the pale and if anyone should be sensitive to such scurrilous charges it is Senator Gillibrand who spent years helping to shield big tobacco from disclosure,” said Chairman Ed Cox.
The ad has been roundly denounced by both Republicans and some Democrats for going too far.
Cox added, “This is the kind of dirty, classless, Chicago-style gutter politics that the Obama campaign regularly partakes in and we trust that Senator Gillibrand will agree.
