Very good post, Mike.
I actually went into a movie theatre recently to see Eastwood's J.Edgar.
I realize Clint is a very conservative man, but his protrait of the two very dangerous demented twits, Hoover and Tolson, was very disappointing.

Buster,
JT doesn't come to SPAC anymore, unfortunately.
His wife is on the board at Tanglewood, and any local/regional concerts that JT does are at Tanglewood.

This, my dear Dr. C., demonstrates the inconsistency of the aging white male Republican mindset. 6 months ago, Clint did the "Halftime in America" Chrysler commercial on the night of Super Bowl Sunday which raised a ruckus because the Karl Roves of the world thought it was pro-Obama. Now he turns around and announces that he publicly supports the election for President of a man who wanted to kill the very American automobile company that Clint had so passionately defended in the commercial and put its employees---yes, the very hard working dedicated men and women allegedly portrayed and extolled by Clint---out of work. A black man with a progressive agenda who wants to uplift the middle and lower classes and bring a small dose of shared sacrifice and economic fairness to the table is so shunned by Clint and his ilk that he would rather vote for a man whose words and actions show has no character whatsoever. However, I agree with your second sentence. I would venture to say that 90% of likely voters have already made up their minds and this obscene avalanche of money is directed at only 10%. Endorsements are pretty damned irrelevant in such a scenario.

Aside from any pricey fundraiser that you (and I) can't afford, Dr. Cannon, I WILL say that James Taylor is my all time favorite artist. That man is aging like a fine wine. He just gets better and better. More charming by the minute.

JT released his first hit album (Sweet Baby James) in 1970. He's still packing fans into shows 42 years later. That's a pretty good career, if you ask me.

If any of the "performers" hatched by the big record companies today can fill a place like SPAC in 42 years, I'll eat my hat.

Extra The "WAR" between Mort and "The Prisoner of City Hall" continues, The battle lines are Drawn and it is "Ink vs Ink".

Will "The Prisoner of City Hall" allies aka Bloomberg LP do some stories on Mort and his Business Interest ?

Both sides buy "INK and PAPER" and have large "EGO's"

Right now "Mort" is winning and has "The Prisoner of City Hall" on the robes covering up as Mort delivers body shots after body shots.

Mort is looking for that "Knockout Punch" and "The Prisoner of City Hall" is saying I only make "A DOLLAR A YEAR" give me a break.

Before there was the "Oracle of Delphi" there was Count Vampire J. Machiavelli

Clint Eastwood has endorsed Mitt.
I don't believe that will swing many votes...except perhaps in Carmel,Cal. or Sun Valley, Idaho.

That lengthens Mitt's Hollywood endorsements, but he will need much more:

"The actor and director instantly became Romney highest-profile celebrity supporter. Romney has also earned the endorsement of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and rock star Kid Rock."

Now you know what is in my iPod.

I knew where I wanted to go!
To see James Taylor (JT), the 1st Lady, and Ma. Gov. Deval Patrick.down in the Berkshires yesterday.

I asked the 1st Lady's fund raiser coordinators if a $3 contribution would open the Gov.'s door. They sniffed, laughed, and cut communications.

I reviewed my money status; and decided that $20k wouldn't work.
I thought about a "bundling" role. I could contact my Saratoga Springs friends/relatives, and ask for $20 k apiece.

I did, and they sniffed, laughed and cut communications.

I will not know if the 1st Lady has diamonds on the soles of her shoes. It's not likely.

WIll these fund raisers ever stop?

There is so much money slopping around this campaign that a major scandal will transpire before Nov.

The POTUS campaign alone will cost over $2 billion; and that does not include the ubiquitous super-Pacs.

Remember the start up of the income tax form that had a $2 check off that could be used for the POTUS race?
It still exists, but it is pocket change.

In fact, Ralph Nader has penned a letter to the national committee chairs of the two parties, asking them to NOT take over $30 million from this check off fund to pay for the two upcoming conventions. LOL.

And speaking of the national conventions, does anyone believe this 3-4 day expensive exercise serves any rational purpose any more. Look, we are in the 21st century.

The conventions bring in big bucks to the local sponsoring cities and the media comglomerates, but is it necessary any more?
