From SoP's Twitter Feed: [Silver: "Your response (to sex harassment
complaints) was not credible." Source says speaker called Lopez to break
news this am. #ohtobeafly]

Here's today's freshman composition assignment. Compare and contrast the Naomi Rivera situation with the Vito Lopez...and the Speaker's response to each.

Perhaps it will end when people aren't put in a position where they have nothing left to lose.

Perhaps it will end when when we don't allow the the wealthy crooks on Wall Street to tank the world economy and walk away scott free...while putting millions of people out of work for years.

Perhaps it will end when American are willing to provide adequate and easily accessible mental health care for everyone. Toss in the rest of health care, too.

Perhaps it will when when billionaires like Bloomberg realize that people don't wind up in homeless shelters because they're cushy places to live.

Perhaps it will end when the prime concern of our electeds isn't to
assure people that a building is back open and ready
to conduct commerce (i.e., make money) again.

Perhaps Bloomberg's quest to control guns is really a way of protecting the people (like the Bloombergs of the world) from bearing the consequences of their actions.

Perhaps gun control allows society to continue to ignore all of the underlying problems that lead to shootings.

Perhaps the NYPD should learn to shoot straight.

Perhaps these are a few things worth pondering every time we have a shooting, en masse or otherwise.

Paul Ryan was an Aynd Rand disciple.
Legend has it that he once handed out copies of Rand’s Atlas Shrugged to his staff and office visitors.
He may have also formed, or joined, a local Wisconsin Rand soriee.Cartoonist Tom Tomorrow’s This Modern World has a super strip this week, with Ryan the ghost of Aynd Rand by his side:Google dailykos and "Haunted by his muse"

Prince Harry’s strip billiards pics. have gone viral.
**************************
Word has it that the Queen told Harry that he will now have to pay rent on whatever Royal castle he dwells. And I received this tweet from Prince Charles:“Harry’s not my son. U recall Diana’s friend, the red-head polo player?”I sent this tweet to Leno and Letterman, but those sidebusters, sodbusters, never responded.

(Mitt Romney’s plan for energy independence gives states control over their own drilling policies. (NYT))
*************Red, blue and green are vibrant colors in any artist’s palate. It was perhaps in the 2000 POTUS race that the msm assigned the GOP the red color; and the Dems. blue. It made the electoral map an artist’s dream.Assigning the GOP red seems appropriate. The color represents turbulence and churning.
Blue is more calming. What is missing is the green! And it is missing from Mitt’s energy plan.
His plan compliments his, and his neo-con advisors, mantra to make the US exceptional..to maintain our preeminence in the world. And to do that fossil fuel energy is required.I may have missed it but I don’t see any mention of climate change, conservation (of any significance), and the importance of renewables. It seems that Mitt’s plan was written by the oil industry.POTUSes have proclaimed energy independence since the 1970ies, but the goal is elusive.Mitt’s DNA is from his father, an automobile man.
And Mitt’s energy plan preserves the what should be transformed…our auto obsessed culture.
