House Dems: Hayworth And Maloney In Virtual Tie
The House Majority PAC is lauding a new Democratic-funded poll that shows Sean Maloney is within the margin of error against GOP Rep. Nan Hayworth.
The survey found that Maloney, a former Spitzer and Clinton administration official, receives 45 percent of the vote to Hayworth’s 48 percent of the vote.
“Nan Hayworth doesn’t represent the interests of the Hudson Valley,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “Whether it’s her support for ending Medicare as we know it and allowing insurance companies to charge women more for coverage just because they’re women or the political games she played holding up critical disaster relief funding after Tropical Storm Irene, Hayworth’s extreme agenda is wrong for New York.”
Hayworth is a top target for House Democrats heading into this election. The redrawn northern suburbs district includes more Democratic voters than before and backed President Obama over Sen. John McCain in the 2008 election.
