League of Conservation Voters Backing Grisanti, Breslin
The New York chapter of the environmental group League of Conservation Voters is rolling out its endorsements of Senate candidates today, with the organization taking sides in several races in which there are primaries.
The group’s full endorsement list is here.
The endorsements are being rolled out in something of a piecemeal fashion and the group isn’t endorsing in every competitive Senate race.
The group announced its backing Senate Environmental Conservation Chairman Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, a GOP lawmaker who faces a primary challenger from Kevin Stocker. Grisanti will face either Chuck Swanick or Mike Amodeo in the general election contest that Democrats believe will be a highly competitive race.
In Albany, the group is backing Sen. Neil Breslin, who is facing a primary challenge from Albany County Legislator Shawn Morse, who has the backing of the Independent Democratic Conference.
And speaking of the IDC, conference member Sen. David Carlucci won the LCV’s backing as well today.
The organization is backing Democrat Justin Wagner as well. Wagner is facing off against Sen. Greg Ball, who is among the more outspoken Republican opponents of hydrofracking.
