Maffei Leading In Democratic Poll
A poll being promoted this afternoon by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee shows former Rep. Dan Maffei with a six percentage-point advantage over GOP incumbent Ann Marie Buerkle.
The poll, which included Green Party candidate Ursula Rozum, gives Maffei 48 percent to Buerkle’s 42 percent.
The survey also found that Buerkle has a 55 percent negative job approval rating.
The poll was conducted between Aug. 26 through Aug. 28. The margin of error is 4.9 percentage points.
“Voters clearly don’t like the radical, extreme policies that Congresswoman Buerkle continues to support,” said Josh Schwerin, Northeast Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congresswoman Buerkle’s record of putting big corporations and wealthy special interests ahead of middle class families is turning voters off. Dan Maffei is running a strong campaign, and his commitment to protect Medicare and fight for the middle class is clearly resonating with central New York voters.”
