Former Gov. George Pataki will endorse U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long tomorrow morning at a hotel in New York City.

Earlier in the morning Pataki will appear on Fox News acting as a Mitt Romney surrogate to promote welfare reform.

Pataki, a three-term Republican, has sought to keep his profile up with a political action committee and there was an oh-so-brief buzz that he was joining the GOP presidential primary, but that quickly fizzled out.

Long’s campaign staff includes several former Pataki hands.

As noted this morning, both U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Long will hold a debate on Oct. 17 at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs which will be seen live on YNN/NY1.
