Ahem. The story WASN’T about Shinagawa skinny-dipping. He wasn’t in Israel. It’s about Shinagawa’s OPPONENT skinny-dipping. Call me old-fashioned, but I think that a candidate’s supporters should actually READ a story before they comment on it. Or give it a “like.”

I used to read Politico all the time. Now it has become a total piece of crap. This NON-story is Exhibit A.

Furthermore, Nate Shinagawa is an idiot for yammering on about how certain electeds’ “behavior was irresponsible and disrespectful to those who consider the Sea of Galilee a holy place.” Who does he think that he’s speaking for? Who is being disrespected? Certainly not the Israeli Jews.

All you have to is spend a few minutes googling to find out that the
area near the Sea of Galilee is a resort. It’s loaded with hotels and
has all kinds of activities going on to keep people entertained. That
includes water activities. The only reason the Israelis might be upset with you swimming in the sea (which is really a lake) is if you PEE IN IT. It’s their source of drinking water.

So…Nate seems to have decided that’s it’s disrespectful TO CHRISTIANS if someone takes a swim in the Sea of Galilee. Despite having been raised a Christian, I’ve never heard of such a crazy thing. Shinagawa is obviously making stuff. He’s spewing nonsense. Cut the crap, dude.

Worse yet, Shinagawa doesn’t seem to grasp the fact that Israel is called “the Jewish State” for a reason. Christians don’t “own” Israel and they don’t get to tell the Israelis and their guests who gets to swim where. That does double for Christians sitting far away in NYS.

Lastly, skinny dipping is not synonymous with having an orgy. I suspect that a lot of adults have gone skinny dipping at one time or the other, especially if they have their own pool. I recommend the Adirondacks. There are easy hikes which bring you to some nice nice swimming holes. I’ve yet to see an orgy taking place while skinny dipping. Maybe next time. Keep hope alive!

One last thing, I’m a Dem. I don’t like stupidity and nonsense when it comes from any political party. That includes my own.

This is story is surprising to me. I hope the mainline press gives this some attention. This is just further evidence that Nate Shinagawa would be the best candidate to represent the 23rd district.

My questions are: who paid for this trip? What did these Congressman disclose to the Isreali fundamentalist while drinking? Does it have any relationship with the Isreali posture on attacking Iran?

The implications here demand a bi-partisan or independent investigation.

It is sad that an incident like this is needed to draw attention to the fact that Nate Shinagawa is the better, and more responsible, candidate. Send the clowns home… Let’s elect Nate.

Nate Shinagawa is a tremendous candidate for Congress, I wouldn’t count him out He is talented, intelligent and will work very hard to get elected in a district that has become more Democratic in it’s new incarnation.
As to the issue here, I don’t particularly care that he goes skinny dipping in the Kineret (aka Galilee). But it sounds like he got to the swimming after a night of wild partying while representing the United States Congress. Scandalous lack of decorum.
