The first ad from Democratic Senate candidate Mike Amodeo takes on primary opponent Chuck Swanick for being a former Republican — a line he clearly hopes will resonate with party-line voters on Thursday.

“It’s time for a fresh start,” Amodeo says in the ad. “I’m Mike Amodeo and I’m running because I believe in a new way.”

Swanick also has the Conservative Party’s backing, which incubment Republican Mark Grisanti lost after he voted for the legalization of same-sex marriage.
