House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will campaign with North Country Congressional candidate Matt Doheny on Oct. 8 with a visit to Watertown.

The Doheny campaign announced this afternoon that details of the trip are yet to be finalized, but it is likely to serve a dual purpose of touring a campaign-style tour of a business, plus a fundraiser.

“Matt Doheny is a great example of how hard work can lead to great success,” said Cantor, who represents Virginia’s 7th district in Congress. “His business experience and commitment to pro-growth ideas and job creation is exactly what we need in Congress. I’m proud to campaign for one of our one strongest prospects.”

The North Country House district, represented currently by Democratic Rep. Bill Owens, is considered a possible pick up by the national GOP. House Speaker John Boehner, who does not exactly have the best relationship with Cantor, held a private fundraiser for Doheny in Lake George this summer.
