Republican Congressional candidate Matt Doheny released his third ad of the campaign this afternoon that seeks to cast Democratic Rep. Bill Owens as a lawmaker who tells constituents one thing and then votes in Washington another way.

The ad accuses Owens of backing the health-care overhaul and increased spending and taxes, while talking up job creation in the North Country district.

“His district’s unemployment rate is 9.6 percent, which is higher than both the state and national figures,” said Doheny. “But my out-of-touch opponent still stubbornly claims we’re better off now than when he joined Congress. Clearly, he’s content to manage the decline. But I know we can do better. I’ve got the energy, experience and desire to help get our economy back on the right track after three years of Bill Owens’ lackluster effort.”
