The Democratic-supported political action committee House Majority PAC is airing an ad over the next two weeks that knocks Republican Congressional candidate Chris Collins’ job creation credentials, both as a businessman and as the Erie County executive.

The ad accuses Collins of doling out patronage jobs as the Erie County executive and awarding a county contract to a company he started.

Collins is facing off against Democratic Rep. Kathy Hochul in one of the most Republican House districts in the state.

Hochul, who is running for a full, two-year term after winning an underdog bid to replace the disgraced former Rep. Chris Lee, has again used the Medicare issue — especially with Rep. Paul Ryan in the number slot on the presidential ticket — to bash Collins.

Collins, in turn, has accused Hochul and her husband of being “public sector” millionaires who have benefited from government employment.

“One thing’s clear from Chris Collins’ record: he knows how to look out for his own bottom line at the expense of Western New York,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “Whether it’s handing out jobs to his friends, awarding a lucrative taxpayer-funded contract to one of his companies or creating jobs in Korea and China because he said it wasn’t ‘feasible’ to do so here at home, Collins is out for himself.”
