Long Has A Campaign Ad, Needs Money To Get It On TV
Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long has a TV spot that takes Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to task over not calling for Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to resign in the ongoing Vito Lopez sexual harassment scandal.
And she needs some help from supporters to bring into New Yorkers’ living rooms.
In a fundraising appeal that attached the ad, she writes:
Please take a moment to view my hard-hitting TV spot that is produced and ready to air. It takes on the culture of corruption that plagues all levels of our government. If you like the ad, please tell me by clicking here and sending a generous donation that will ensure that more New Yorkers get to see it. Together we can retire Kirsten Gillibrand and give government back to the people.
Silver negotiated more than $130,000 in settlement money for the alleged Lopez victims.
Earlier in the day, Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, a Republican, said he didn’t think the Lopez scandal was resonating with New York voters, as opposed to economic issues.
