PEF Unveils Endorsements
Getting around a little late to this, but the Public Employees Federation released its endorsements of state and federal candidates, with many state Senate races not receiving any nod from the white-collar union of state workers.
The union did back Sen. Neil Breslin, the Albany County Democrat who is being challenged in a primary by Shawn Morse.
PEF is also supporting Ted O’Brien, the Monroe County legislator who wants to replace Sen. Jim Alesi. He faces Republican Assemblyman Sean Hanna.
Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos received the union’s endorsement, even if his chamber approved and his conference is running on its passage of the Tier Six pension plan, a cost-saving measure that was deeply opposed by organized labor.
