“Assembly Silver discredits Cuomo reform efforts”

Speaker Silver is miscalculating how much Gov. Cuomo wants to be taken as a committed and serious reformer of a broken system. Gov. Cuomo looses a great deal of credibility as a truely reform minded Gov. if Silver is allowed to try to pass the Lopez scandal off as business as usual. It won’t be tidy enough to pull that off with the independent investigations now underway and the mud will stick if Silver tries to hang on. Governor Cuomo will do the right thing and send a message to Speaker Silver that it’s time to go as Speaker, because if he doesn’t the same old stink is back in Albany, NY, and that really will hurt Cuomo’s image as a real reformer, and he can’t afford that if he wants to be President

Shelly’s cover-up of the intimidating and demeaning behavior of Lopez and his staff is far worse than Clinton’s dalliances with multiple willing partners.
It continues the institutionalized devaluation of women in the workforce at the legislature. Had this incident occured at BofA, the same people winking and nodding at Silver and Lopez would be screaming for heads to roll.
The rot and corruption that is Albany continues unabated with Shelly at its rotten core. Mr. Benjamin seems to think that is just fine, and I do wonder why.

Yes, Buster “Sex in The Assembly” is a smash hit and the reviews keep on coming, like all reviews some are good some are bad, and I am sure you will point that out.

The stars will be in North Carolina and they will be giving interviews and signing autographs,

Clinton already had his ass investigated and kicked every which way for his transgressions. It’s silly to bring Clinton into the current discussion. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Your paean to Silver seems a tad over the top, too. This sentence is hoot:

“The former president could learn something from Shelly as he arrives in
Charlotte to tell Democrats and America about our values, principles,
and about respecting women and their bodies.”

I almost expected Ethel Merman to bust out singing “God Bless America.”

Let me refresh your memory. Who ate pretzels while the woman that Michael Boxley raped was talking to him about the incident? Do you think that was a sign of respect for women and their bodies…or a deliberate sign of contempt and dismissiveness?

I doubt that the secret settlement was really for the WOMEN’S benefit, either, as Silver has repeatedly said. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Plus, who do you think was behind the NY Post story trashing several of the victim’s on Thursday, only a couple hours after the emails from Silver’s counsel were released to the press? What’s your excuse for that?

Are you REALLY as clueless as you seem or are you trying to get Shelly to appoint you to something with a stipend?

If you want to deceive yourself, be my guest. Just don’t expect the rest of us to be so blind. Ignoring the wrongdoing of one’s own political party is a major part of why our government sucks at all levels. Get your head screwed on straight, Michael.

Yes , The Stars of “Sex in The Assembly” will be asked a lot of questions as they sign all those autographs,

Shelly, Eric,Tom,and Gloria all are going to “cast” themselves in as “Heros” in this Smash hit.

I m sure Bill Clinton that super star of “I Did Not Have Sex With That Women” will be more than happy o talk about the smash hit “Sex in The Assembly”

I think he will be sitting with the stars as part of the delegation and stating at the same hotel.

Lets not forget Rangel and a number of “OTHERS” who have stared in other “SHOWS” will be there to.

The knives are always out for Shelly. I suspect they’ll have to be put away — again. Since we’re still in Paul Ryan mode, it’s fair to say that NY doesn’t want to see what’ll happen if “Shelly Shrugs.”

Plus, it’s hypocritical to simultaneously adore Bill Clinton and castigate Speaker Silver who is not accused of sexual misconduct, has not committed perjury, and has not misled the media and the public during this unseemly business involving despicable behavior by Assemblyman Lopez. The former president could learn something from Shelly as he arrives in Charlotte to tell Democrats and America about our values, principles, and about respecting women and their bodies.

So, while the LCA is hounding Shelly, Eric and Tom, I hope they find time to ask Bill about this mess and ethics investigations. I’m curious to hear what the Chappaqua Savior has to say.

Keep your eye on Morelle. He has a reputation as quite the Machiavellian operator. While he would appear to be a strong backer of Silver, that would change at any convenient moment. He’s also close to Duffy, as well as Upstate leaders who have little use for Silver. Note that Morelle has made noise recently about pay raises–he’s one of the few Upstate assemblymen whose seat is relatively safe enough to go out on a limb to promote pay raises. If he were to play a role in bringing about pay raises, that would give him an incredible reservoir of good will with the other members that he could draw on to advance himself.

Two words: Albany Spring.
