Here’s one of the weirder political mailers that’s been circulating around the Queens Republican Senate primary race between Juan Reyes and Councilman Eric Ulrich.

The mailer from the Reyes campaign serves to highlight the fact that John Haggerty, a political operative convicted of siphoning nearly $1 million from Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s 2009 re-election campaign, is working for Ulrich (Haggerty is not accepting any money from the Ulrich campaign and is considered a volunteer).

Still, Reyes wants to draw attention to the other “villains” that are supporting Ulrich’s effort to unseat Democratic Sen. Joe Addabbo.

Sniffed one Ulrich supporter: “Presumably it’s intended to be funny, but the only joke here is Juan’s candidacy.”
