Enviros: Hanna Fell Asleep In Science Class
As part of their effort on behalf of state legislative candidates this election cycle, the New York League of Conservation Voters has sent out its first mailer knocking Republican Sean Hanna for his environmental record.
Hanna, an assemblyman running for the seat held by retiring Sen. James Alesi, won the environmental group’s so-called “Oil Slick Award” for backing legislation opposed by the NYCLV.
Hanna is competing for the seat against Democrat Ted O’Brien.
The front of the mailer suggests Hanna didn’t pay attention in science class — that’s why he opposes so much green legislation.
The reverse side of the mailer claims a Sen. Sean Hanna would mean “our kids and entire communities would be less safe.”
“While New York has tough laws to protect us from pesticides and other dangerous ollutants, Hanna is the prime sponsor of egislation to weaken those protections — putting the health of our families at risk,” the mailer says.
