I can't see how they can have the marathon on Sunday.

How are the people going to get there? You can't cross the East River inbound without 3 in a car, No easy way into Manhattan from the airports & the traffic is ridiculous.

There won't be subway service to Brooklyn for how long? Long time. The buses from Brooklyn to Manhattan are horrendous -- the HOV at the bridges are trending toward violence according to a local blog.

And you're right, Buster, it's a frivolous use of police, heath & safety workers & hotel space.

What kind of a message is it for Staten Island, Rockaway & Queens people without power, food, heat & homes.

Maybe they should give all of the hotel/lodging rooms to NYC residents in need & put the marathoners in evacuation centers.

That makes a lot more sense than to keep NYC residents on the streets while people go for a long run.

[In praise of the NYC Marathon, which will take place as scheduled Sunday.]

Cuomo needs to put a stop to this, ASAP. It undoes his efforts to portray the seriousness of the NYC disaster...and our need for $$$. Not to mention, the race will kill the raising of Andy's national profile as (nicely) arranged by newly hired Miss Allison!

As the people in the linked story said, a marathon is a frivolous use of police and other city personnel. People are without electricity...and homes even. Yet a bunch of yuppies want to prance around the ruins in expensive sneakers? I think not. Get a grip, folks. Somebody has to be an adult here and say "no." Guess whose job that is. You guessed right. Get crackin', Andrew.

Bloomberg is getting more daffy by the minute. Have him custom-fitted for a straight jacket.

[Maybe what post-Sandy NYC needs is some very large - and very expensive – sea gates like the Dutch city of Rotterdam has.]

Good idea. Skip REPLACING the Tappan Zee bridge. As someone said a week or two ago, the bridge is simply outdated...not structurally deficient. It can wait. Use the money for a down payment on some sea gates etc.

Just think, Andy, massive sea gates would be the first in the U.S. It would be a test project worthy of major federal funds, IMHO. It would be a forerunner for something similar in New Orleans. Sea gates would be the mother of all legacies!

Think big, Andrew. Excelsior!

Wolfson is back at work

I guess Wolfson or one of his "FLACKS" read my comments

What a JOKE he claims he was working the weekend and running NANNY PAC ?

I am sure all his buddies in the media we accept this as fact.

I for one DON'T and neither should the "MEDIA"

So how much money was he paid for his "Short Stay" at Nanny Pac ?

While NYC was being flooded Wolfson and NANNY PAC MAN were writing checks to the chosen.

We will see once the fillings are made public and who else was getting paid from NANNY PAC.

Before there was the "Oracle of Delphi" there was Count Vampire J. Machiavelli
