When they get called out on it they dissemble and say that they are &quot;just trying to preserve the programs for the future&quot; and that Democrats are engaging in &quot;Mediscare&quot; tactics. But since the Republicans were overwhelmingly opposed to both programs in the first place, why should we believe them? They have no credibility on this topic. </description>
