Hayworth’s Parents: These Maloney Ads Are ‘Rubbish’
Rep. Nan Hayworth is the latest Republican to deploy a parent in her TV ad.
In fact, Hayworth has both her mother and father in her latest 30-second TV spot that has them trashing Democratic opponent Sean Patrick Maloney’s ads as “garbage” and “rubbish.”
Just like Rep. Chris Gibson and challenger Matt Doheny here in New York, Hayworth’s use of her parents in the ads is part of an overall Republican effort across the country to show that their plans for Medicare don’t really hurt seniors.
Hayworth sent out the ad which was coupled with an appeal for campaign donations so she could get the spot on TV.
From her email appeal:
Sean Maloney accuses me of “ending the guarantee of Medicare,” when the opposite is true: as a doctor who cared for thousands of patients who depended on their Medicare benefits, I know how much seniors like my parents need Medicare to be secure. They’ve planned their retirement around it, and our nation has made a commitment to them that I have done all I can to honor.
