U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says in a new TV ad for her campaign that it is because of the 9/11 first responders pushing for the Zadroga health compensation bill that the long-sought measure was finally passed.

Gillibrand, who promoted the ad today in an email to supporters, was one of the main backers of the measure in the Senate while serving out the remainder of Hillary Clinton’s six-year term.

As far as I can tell, this is Gillibrand’s third ad of the campaign season, in which she faces Republican Wendy Long, a lawyer from Manhattan.

Her first ad was an upstate exclusive commercial touting manufacturing and the second which aired downstate highlighted her support of the STOCK Act, which limited “insider trading” among members of Congress and top aides.

As with all of Gillibrand’s ads, this latest spot don’t overtly say “vote for me” or even suggest she has a GOP opponent.

From Gillibrand’s email:

This ad is a tribute to all of our heroes — the brave first responders and community survivors — who woke up that morning as ordinary New Yorkers and committed extraordinary acts of heroism. It was an honor to stand with them arm-in-arm along with the New York Congressional delegation to fight this fight. We couldn’t have done it without them and their families.
