Republican U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long released her 2011 taxes to reporters on Friday, showing she and her husband Arthur Long have a combined income of $1.24 million and paid a combined state and federal tax rate of about 37 percent.

The Longs reported a total income of $1,240,595 and an adjusted gross income of $1,159,005.

They paid $335,027 in federal taxes and $134,731 in state and New York City taxes.

The families’ income last year is all from Arthur, who is a partner at the firm Davis, Polk & Wardwell. The income came from both his compensation and from IRA contributions.

The Longs also claimed deductions of $228,611 and contributed $30,159 to charity, That included donations of clothing to Goodwill, baby supplies to the Pregnancy Resource Center and opera tickets to the Met. No itemized contributions were immediately made available.

Long released the tax documents at the Albany offices of Capital Public Strategies, the lobbying shop that recently merged with Park Strategies in August.

The tax information comes after U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in June released her tax returns since 2007, or each year since holding elected office, on her website.
